We want to keep you up to date as we release new features and update ShipStation's functionality. This release information focuses on what's new and what's changed in ShipStation's new layout. To review a summary of how the new layout differs from ShipStation Legacy, please review the Moving from ShipStation Legacy to the New Layout help article.
We've enhanced several features you may already be using in ShipStation. These enhancements range from simple interface design (as with the Rate Calculator) to new processes to accomplish old tasks (as with splitting and combining orders).
Read through the updates to get an idea of what this updated functionality includes. Each section will include a link to the full documentation about that feature, in case you want to learn all the details.
You can now specify a contact when you schedule pickups in ShipStation. The Contact information includes name, email, phone number, and any location notes the driver will need to find the pickup location.
You can now include order item SKUs when adding customs declarations to your international shipments. Learn more about customs declarations.
ShipStation will automatically add the order item SKU into the SKU field when you choose to Create declarations from order items in your International Settings.
Accounts in all countries can now add save their various Tax IDs to ShipStation and apply them to orders using Automation Rules.
To add your Tax ID, go to
Settings > Shipping > International Settings and click the Add a Tax Identifier button.
Additionally, we've added the Set Tax Identifier action to Automation Rules.
To learn how to create this rule, see Example Rule #6 in our Automation Rule Examples help article.
Not Available for Legacy
This update is available only in the new ShipStation layout. If you are still using the Legacy layout, click the Try Now button in the ShipStation header to switch to the new layout.
ShipStation now logs the date, time, and user that verified a shipment using the Scan to Verify feature. You can view this data by hovering over the Verified icon in the Scan to Verify column of the Shipments Grid.
We’ve added filters and sorting by notification status to the Shipments & Fulfillments page! Additionally, you can now resend failed or unsent order confirmation emails or marketplace notifications for fulfillments from the Shipments & Fulfillments page.
For our Canada Post users, you can now schedule next day pickups with ShipStation’s Carrier Pickup feature! Review our Schedule a Pickup help article for details.
