Inventory Sync

ShipStation's Inventory Sync feature streamlines ecommerce operations by eliminating the need for manual updates, ensuring that inventory levels are always accurate and up-to-date. With Inventory Sync, you can easily manage your inventory across multiple platforms, save time and reduce the risk of errors.

ShipStation supports synchronizing inventory across a variety of stores including Shopify, Amazon, and Etsy with more integrations coming soon. To have this feature enabled for your account, please fill out our Inventory Sync form.

When syncing available inventory counts, you can select which sources to sync inventory from and determine which target stores should receive updates. 

Sources are where you want to pull inventory stock level into ShipStation. Sources can be ShipStation Inventory or ShipStation 3PL.

Targets are where you want to stock levels to be updated from the source. Targets can be Shopify, Amazon, or Etsy stores with more stores coming soon.

You can select as many Sources and Targets as you'd like.

Benefits of Inventory Sync

  • Save time: Remove the need to manually upload inventory CSVs and inventory levels by letting ShipStation automatically sync your inventory levels from your selected sources.

  • Stop underselling and overselling: Never miss out on a sale because a product is incorrectly listed as “out of stock” at a store or marketplace. Underselling directly leads to missed revenue in the short term and lost customers. Conversely, avoid costly mistakes from canceled orders by incorrectly listing an item as in "in stock". 

  • Stay in good standing with marketplaces: Inventory Sync ensures your inventory is always up to date and accurate across all your sales channels. This means you won’t upset customers with unfulfillable canceled orders and won’t risk being suspended by marketplaces like Amazon, eBay, and Walmart.

Requirements for Inventory Sync

Get Started with ShipStation's Inventory Sync Beta Program

If you have connected a store that supports Inventory Sync and are interested in participating our beta program, fill out ShipStation's Inventory Sync form. An associate from our team will contact you to get started.

Enable Inventory Sync

Once you have filled out the Inventory Sync Beta Program form and been contacted by our team, you can prepare your account to enable Inventory Sync by making sure your product counts are accurate.

Next, you can proceed with enabling Inventory Sync:

Inventory Sync is now enabled. While it can take up to an hour to complete the sync, you may continue working in ShipStation.

  1. Go to Settings > Inventory Management > Inventory Sync.

  2. Click the Setup Inventory Sync button.

  3. Select the Sources and Targets you would like to update via Inventory Sync. You may select as many as you'd like.


    Product SKU Must Be in ShipStation and Store

    For syncing to work, the same SKU must be used within ShipStation and each of your stores.

    Product Aliases and Product Bundles are not currently supported, however that functionality is coming soon!

  4. Click Save Configuration.

  5. Check the box I understand and agree to these terms, then click Save Configuration.
